1. New government policy calls for \"market principles, market prices, and market competition.” This reflects the fact that most SOCs are not earning their cost of capital, requiring significant subsidies. In contrast, private firms are earning substantially above their cost of capital and thus are able to expand as China's economy grows. Is China’s future in the hands of private business or will state owned companies drive China forward?
I want to ask a question to you all. Do you think what field can leading China to a better future? The answer is obvious. It must be energy industry, space engineering and military force these kind of fields that called as hard power to a country. And these fields will always be in the hands of SOCs because of two. First, to develop these fields, it requires a lot of money and nature resources which only can be provided by SOCs. Second, these fields must be in the hand of SOCs because it linked with the lifeblood of China. No one can be allowed in without national permissions. But it doesn't mean that private business isn't important. On the contrary, private business is indispensable which makes our life much cheaper and more convenient. So, it will be state owned companies and private business in the second place to drive China forward in the future.
2. “Leftover women” was a strange concept 30 year ago but became popular. Now, more and more young women are not afraid of becoming a “ leftover woman.” Do you agree with the idea of “leftover women”? Why?
First of all, I don't like this question. Because there are many leftover men
like me. I'm appealing to everyone to pay attention to us male. But of course, I'm going to talk about the reasons why some women become leftover.
First, now women are becoming more independent than ever, both in economically and mentally. They have their own standards of choosing their partners. They want men who are tall, rich, humorous and handsome, but unfortunately, such excellent men are quite few, while the girls would rather be single than choose a ordinary man they don’t love or like.
Second, now men are living under huge pressure. They need to get a house, a car, a good job in a very young age, then they could get a girlfriend, but this is very unrealistic. So many girls become leftover. But as long as they feel ok, I think it’s nothing to be blamed, after all, everyone has the right to choose its way of life.
3. 10 years ago, our government took measures to construct the New Socialist Countryside. Now the government has begun an Urbanization Policy. Are the two policies opposite to or consistent with each other?
As we all know, these two policies are put forward in two different times. There must be some relevancy between these. 10 years ago, the countryside is backward in public construction, economy and social medical, etc. We should take measures to construct the New Socialist Countryside. As the time goes by, the countryside is now much better than it was 10 years ago. The government has begun an urbanization policy which put the countryside forward into a
better future. It's said that, \"Rome is not built in one day\". That means these two policies are executed step by step. When there are some accomplishments while doing New Socialist Countryside, and these accomplishments are good enough for putting a new policy, it is time to execute the urbanization policy. So, the two policies, in my opinion, are consistent with each other instead of opposite.
4. Cooperation and competition are usually seen as two sides of a coin. For international business, the balance between cooperation and competition is very important. What is your advice for maintaining that balance?
In my opinion, these two sides are indispensable to international business. The relationship between companies can't be absolute cooperation or competition, while cooperation makes people to break through and competition makes people motivated. How to maintaining the balance is important for us to get win-win. First, don't be selfish. Selfishness is the top killer of win-win, while taking others' sights does good. Second, always be decent. If you play dirty in competition, it will get bad impression so that no one will cooperate with you again. Third, be as good as your word. No one will cooperate with a liar and a liar absolutely can't get succeeded in competition. So, take these three advices, you will maintaining the balance between cooperation and competition in international business.
5. The State Council has changed the Enterprise Registration Policy to make enterprise registration much easier than before. There is no doubt that the new
policy will be good for economic development. According to your experience, please present more details to convince the public of the advantages of the new policy.
Making enterprise registration much easier than before is definitely a good news.
This new policy will create more opportunities for the young to establish a company. In the past, we may need one million for enterprise registration, now we may only need five hundred thousand. In the past, we may need a large building or land for enterprise registration, now we may only need a small room. Perhaps most importantly, the procedures is quite complex for a registration in the past, one would go to different kinds of departments of the local and superior government, to get signature, stamp and fill in many forms. Any step may obstacle for enterprise registration. But now, the procedure is much simpler.
Moreover, the new policy also helps to ease unemployment pressure. As the unemployment pressure is on the rise, the newly graduated students don’t have to compete for the limited job opportunities and start their own business instead. With more enterprises, it will help promote industrial upgrading, such as transforming the labor-intensive economy to technology-intensive economy, thus there will be more companies comes out, like Xiao Mi and .
6. In order to save time, and reduce congestion. many companies and government offices have begun to encourage their staff to work at home. Some people think this is a good idea, especially in big cities. Other people claim it is difficult to supervise workers and worry that working at home will affect efficiency. How do you feel about this ?
In my opinion, working at home could be one form of working, but it depends on what kind of working you are doing.
If they work at home, they don't need to go a long way in the morning, this will save a lot of time and expenses. Thus, they may not suffer on traffic jam and take crowded bus, which may decrease some troubles and provide convenience for staff members. By working at home, they could enjoy comfortable surrounding and deal with family issues at the same time. What's more, it will save working space and infrastructure investment, and the company don't have to pay large amounts of expenses on water and electricity. This is specially suitable for those staff whose work mainly rely on computer and telephone, such as those who do after-selling service.
On the other hand, many people may doubt the efficiency of working at home. Maybe certain computer system or program can be established to control them, the employer can irregularly supervise the staff by internet. Perhaps, the company can set up a video interface that connect colleagues who also work at home, this will create a working atmosphere just like being in the office, then they can communicate with each other and share laughter and
tears in every success and failure, this will obviously enhance productivity.
Those are my opinion about working at home.
7. Accompanied by parents or grandparents and having to get up early, many pupils in cities need to travel a long way to get to school with a heavy bag on their back. Moreover, it is impossible for many families to buy or rent a house near schools. Do you think our governments should be responsible for this problem?
The government is responsible for that, but only in part. I guess that is why the government is trying to solve the problem. For example, we have seen more schools being built in residential blocks. The schools are actually built with the support of our government.
However, parents should also be responsible for that. If they don’t race to send their children to the few so called “top schools”, there wouldn’t be such a problem. Parents need to change their mind-set. They need to understand that it is the children who is responsible for their learning, not the schools. I remember attending a Montessori[,mɔnti'sɔ:ri] forum where early education experts teach the Montessori education philosophy. One important point stuck me: children learn by themselves, while teachers and schools are just facilitators. No matter which school the children are from, there’s always a chance for them to succeed. Take me for example, I came from… but now I am standing here giving a speech. On the contrary, some of my top school friends didn’t make it at college entrance exam.
To sum up, the government is partly responsible for that, while parents are more to blame.
8. Typing characters through computers is much more efficient than writing by hand. However, A CCTV program named Chinese Character Writing Competition reminds us many people are not able to write some Chinese characters correctly. Do you have any solutions to this problem?
With the popularity of the computer, many people are not able to write some Chinese characters correctly. In fact, the Chinese character have exists nearly thousands of years, the evolution of the Chinese character represent the traditional culture. So it is important for our young people to write the character correctly. In my opinion , there are a lot ways to encourage people to write the character correctly.
First of all, the teacher should emphasis the importance of Chinese character in primary school. For example, the teacher could introduce the evolution of the Chinese character with some little stories to make the students become interested in Chinese character, so they are more likely to write the Chinese character correctly.
Secondly, some competitions could be hold in middle schools to arouse interests among students while some awards will do well.
9. First Aid is very popular in developed countries, while most people in China
know little about it. Actually it plays an important role in our daily life, especially when an emergency happens. Do you think your company should teach first aid?
It is important for everyone to know some first aid. As the saying goes, Fortune is as unpredictable as the weather. We can never tell what’s going to happen in the next time. In cases of emergency, first aid is essential. In my opinion, our company should teach first aid, because this benefits not only the staff, but also the company.
Let me give you an example of myself. My job takes me to the work site very often. Sometimes, I should go to the electrolysis[ɪ,lɛk'trɑləsɪs] work-shops. The air in this place is full of acid, it makes me uncomfortable. In case of accidents, we can learn some first aid to minimize the damage or even save a staff’s life.
And for the company, the benefits are just as obvious. When we feel safer and more assured, we can work more earnestly['ɜːnɪstlɪ]. Even if accidents occur, the damage will be minimized.
10. Medical service is a growing social concern. Recently, the Ministry of Health has made some reforming policies to improve this unsatisfying situation. However, medical service is still getting more expensive and it is more difficult to get a registration for Expert Diagnosis. What can we do about this problem?
In my opinion, we could solve this problem from the following three
aspects.
At first, most of good medical resources gathered in big hospital, almost all of these hospital gathered in big cities. Because of this, patients crowded into those big hospital for seeing doctors. If we can distribute these resources to all levels of hospitals, such as encouraging more experts come to county or town hospitals, perhaps there won't have so many people overcrowded in one place.
Secondly, we should not only build more community hospital in local and improve infrastructure of medical facilities of these hospitals, but also try to invite some famous professors to regularly train those young doctors in community hospitals for promoting their abilities. Which means the local people can have better medical services in local hospitals.
At last, our government need to perfect the basic medical insurance system, invest more money in public health area and reduce the medical expenses. With the lower costs and better services, I think the unsatisfying situation would be improved.
11. Immigration has been a social focus recently. More and more family members of government officials are moving out of China, which makes many “Naked Officials.” Many people think those family members will move China’s property or resources to other countries. What can our government do about this?
This issue is about corruption, it's a problem left over by history. For my own opinion, I think the measures to solve this issue can be mainly divided into three points.
At first, we know that these so-called \"Naked Officials\" regard the countries which they immigrant to as a safe haven. So it is important to strengthen cooperation in the field of anti-corruption between China and these governments. Such as to sign a treaty on extradition or judicial assistance, which could increase the difficulty of flight.
More importantly, we need to establish a well-designed system of officials' asset reporting. Only if forcing the officials to put their properties on the table, they could be supervised effectively by the public. Meanwhile, government should regularly check the information from the system, to ensure its accuracy.
Last but not least, a strict punishment system is also necessary. The purpose of this system is not just to severely punish corruptions, is to regulate officials' behaviors. For example, The officials won't have the thought on adventure, if the risk of breaking the law is too high.
12. More and more western experts or scholars state: “As China becomes, again, the world's largest economy, it wants the respect it enjoyed centuries ago,\" \"But it does not know how to achieve this”. What are your ideas?
In my opinion, we China can get the respect it enjoyed centuries ago in these two aspects.
First, we shoulder more international responsibilities like funding infrastructure in Africa, doing peace-keeping missions and helping curing Ebola or other epidemics. At the same time ,we also should ensure about the quality of the constructions and services to earn a global reputation.
Secondly, we can enhance our culture output. Culture of a country is the most important thing than anything . Once your culture is taken by world, the world is yours. By writing about his own people and his own culture, Lin Yutang earns a global reputation till this day. To make it come true, we should make good movies and literature works involved our own tradition, and build Confucius institutes with the world class universities.
Only in these ways can China earns its respect what it enjoyed centuries ago.
13. Fish will die without water and human beings have been taking food as the GOD. In recent years, food safety has become an increasing problem. Please give some suggestions on how to improve food safety in China.
We know food security has been a serious problem in recent years. The food has a close relation with our health, if we could not eat safe food, it will create great harm to our country. Then how to solve this problem, I have three
suggestions.
Firstly, the government should build well-design supervision system, which means the relevant departments need to carefully examine the producing and selling procedures of certain products from the beginning to the end.
Secondly, the commercial morality should be strengthened among the public, especially to those owner of the food factories and super markets. They need to know what could be done and what could not be done when they are doing business. For example, ads. and posters about food security could be put up on the TV and newspapers. This will let more people be responsible for the food they produce or sell.
Thirdly, more strict regulation and law should be established to punish those who produce and sell poisonous food, such as ditch oil, polluted milk powder or poisonous rice. Financial penalties and criminal punishment should be enforced on them.
By the three solutions above, I believe the food security problems will be improved effectively.
14. Many universities in the west are not renewing their relationships with the Confucius Institute. The universities say the Confucius Institute interferes with academic freedom. Should academic freedom be restricted?
First, I have a clarification to make. Confucius Institutes are not blocking academic freedom. In this globalized world, everyone can get easy access to second hand information from the Internet, ideas about China can never be dominated by Confucius Institutes. Also, more people are traveling to China to see what China is really like.
Second, academic freedom should not be restricted. It is the reason why new thoughts come out. In old China, about Dynasty Zhou, there is a time that so many different thoughts come out while there is no so-called official thoughts to block people's minds. And during the Renaissance['rɛnəsɑns], a lot of good thinkers come out while the Church cannot be able to control people's mind. These two examples show that the academic freedom should not be restricted but pursued.
First, I have a clarification to make. Confucius Institutes are not blocking academic freedom. In this globalized world, everyone can get easy access to second hand information from the Internet, ideas about China can never be dominated by Confucius Institutes. Also, more people are traveling to China to see what China is really like. So there is no way for Confucius Institutes to interfere with China-related ideas.
Second, academic freedom should not be restricted. We still remember how much damage the burning and burying (or in Chinese Fenshukengru焚书坑儒) by the First Emperor of Qin caused. Scholars were persecuted, classics were burned, leaving a great hole in the history of Chinese culture. And the
more recent Cultural Revolution did nothing but lead to a complete chaos. We live in a diverse world. The world needs different voices to progress. Just as no competition, no progress, when there’s no other voices, the world would get to a standstill. It is wrong, it harmful, and worst of all, it is boring.
15. With the development of Information Technology, rumors spread increasingly fast through WeChat or Weibo. In your own opinion, should WeChat and Weibo be controlled tightly or can there be a free flow of information?
开头:评论式 it is true that some problems occur when using Wechat or Weibo. I hereby want to introduce the idea “guided freedom”.
Advantages: 便捷高效,举自己例子
Regulations: China now has relevant regulations to curb rumors. E.g., If one starts a rumor which is forwarded over 500 times, he will be held accountable for legal responsibilities.
结论:WeChat or Weibo has more advantages than its potential risks. Just as one cannot stop eating for fear of being choked, we should not stop using Wechat or Weibo simply for fear of possible dangers. With some guidance by the government, we can make the most of the Internet.
With the development of Information Technology, an increasing number of people beginning to worry about the rumors spread increasingly fast
through WeChat or Weibo. In my opinion, these rumors should be restricted.
First, rumors directly infringe upon citizens' rights, affecting their daily life and ruining their public image.
Besides, the dissemination of such rumors as those about social or natural disasters causes panic and disorder among society
Last but not least, the spread of rumors on the Internet will undermine the credibility of the net to such a degree that people will no longer trust it in the future
Given the seriousness of this problem, effective steps must be adopted before the situation deteriorates. First, it is imperative that laws and regulations be enacted and executed to stop the production and transmission of Internet rumors. For instance, real-name system should be introduced as soon as possible. Secondly, people should be educated to identify and reject groundless allegations. With severe laws and a conscious public, it will only be a matter of time for Internet rumors to be eradicated.
16. What can your company do for you? What can you do for your company? Which answer is more important for you?
开头:John F. Kennedy famously noted: Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.
When I apply for my job, the human resource department manager ask me a question, \"what do you think our company can do for you?\" I gave him a directly answer, I was a part of my company, my destiny is associate with my company, we have to confront with different difficulties together, only I work hard, I would help my company earn reputation, and I also could get benefit from it. Today, when I stand in my mother company, I want to repeat my answer, what could I do for my company
The first is responsibility, what’s responsibility, responsibility is that a person do fairs well, do work should be done well, undertaken the task should be undertaken, and complete the mission should be completed. When i work for myself and the company, i will seriously and work to ensure the best.
The second, love, love my job, and do my work into the greatest enthusiasm. The successes of things are often determined by the strength of determination and enthusiasm, as long as we do the work in loving the attitude, then all difficulties will disappear, thus, employee have to love the work, pursuit of excellence, and have a positive attitude toward work, learning and life.
Third, dedication, dedication is to respect the work, that is ,in any environment, taking the dedication as a habit, as long as I dedication to my work will make me grow up from the work.
17. China censors the Internet because the government thinks many
Chinese cannot distinguish rumor from truth. What do you think would happen if the Internet in China was free?
With globalization, there are more and more websites. China censors the Internet because the government thinks many Chinese cannot distinguish rumor from truth. From my point of view, China's regulation on the Internet industry is proved to be suitable for China's national conditions and in line with common practices in most countries as well. A lot of bad things may happen if the Internet in China was free.
First of all, there will be more rumors if the Internet war free. There is no doubt that rumors have a bad influence on both the country and the individual. For example, some made-up rumors directly infringe upon citizens' rights, affecting moreovertheir daily life and ruining their public image. Besides, some rumors about social or natural disasters causes panic and disorder among society. Moreover, the spread of rumors on the Internet will undermine the credibility of the net to such a degree that people will no longer trust it in the future. In this case, it is crucial to censors the Internet filter out the bad rumors.
In addition, there are many information which are harmful to the social atmosphere and the teenager. For teenager, they might be mislead by the pornography and violent information. These information might influence their characteristic he mental health. It is indispensable for our country to provide the teenager a good Internet environment during their growth.
Taking into all things considered, it will result in some bad consequences if the Internet was free. It is necessary for the government take some measures to censor the Internet.

18. We cannot make choices for our birth and death. But we can make our own decision for marriage. Should one get married to make the family happy or herself/himself happy?
开头:the best we can do is to make both ourselves and our family happy. But if unfortunately, my relationship with someone is not blessed by my family members, I think I will stick to my own choice.
论述:family, esp. parents give their suggestions for only one reason: they want me to be happy.
When it comes to the issue of the arrangement of one’s marriage, some people suggest that we should get married to make family happy, while others maintain the different view, the prefer to get married to make herself/himself happy. From for part, I agree with the later view for the following reasons.
In ancient China, many marriage are arranged by the parents. In most cases, the couple do not know each other before the marriage. As a result, there could cause a series of problem. For example, the marriage arranged
by the parents may cause the betrayal of marriage. In the new arranged family, the two people have no common hobby and habits even though they didn’t know each other before they get married, so they have no personal relationship between them based on love. It can make them ignore each other, and accumulate the contradictions during the daily life. In some cases, this will result in a unhappy family.
However, for those who choose to get married to make herself/himself happy, these problems do not exist. In a marriage, it is very important to understand each other. For these people, they might have the same hobby or character. They are more likely to have a happiness family. In fact, this kind of marriage can also make their family happy.
Taking into all things considered, with the development of our society, we can make our own decision for marriage. It is more important to get married to make herself/himself happy.

19. Many people in cities like Beijing, and Tianjin will not be able to buy a car because there is not enough room for more cars and the pressure from air pollution. What should we do about those who can afford but can’t buy?
Well, to those unfortunate people my advice is “then don’t buy a car.” people generally want a car as a convenient means of transport. But why should we endure all the difficulties to get a car when there are so many transport alternatives? I see buses, double deckers, and subways everywhere in Beijing. You can choose any of them at incredibly low prices. And cars are not the most efficient anyway. I bet you all know what it is like to get jammed on the road, especially during rush hours. Worse still, you’ll get headache finding a parking space once you have a car. So it simply makes no sense to get a car for convenience in big cities where the traffic is often too crowded.
Second, the government should also do something to help them. I think the Beijing municipal government is a good example in this regard. Beijing is well known for its affordable and convenient public transport. Huge buses, double deckers, and subways are running at regular intervals, connecting the whole city. And the price is unbelievably cheap! That is, the government is subsidizing the public transport to encourage people to use it.
20. If enough people went back to riding bicycles, the air would be clean and the roads would be uncrowned. What are some ways to encourage more people to ride bicycles rather than drive?
开头:this is an interesting topic: encouraging people to shift from the old habit to a new one. It reminds me of a true story in my department. Years ago, when CAD was still new, some older engineers were not ready for the change from hand drawing to CAD. So the company came up with this idea: give a
prize of 100 yuan for each drawing finished. And it worked! The engineers shifted to CAD happily gradually.
论述:the story tells us an important way: giving incentives. In fact this is nothing new, and the Beijing municipal government is a good example in this regard. Beijing is well known for its affordable and convenient public transport. Huge buses, double deckers, and subways are running at regular intervals, connecting the whole city. And the price is unbelievably cheap! That is, the government is subsidizing the public transport to encourage people to use it. Similarly, the government may also subsidize the use of bicycles.
Another way is to help people realize how cheaper and faster a bike is than a car. In the first place, a bike costs much less. And cars need insurance, gasoline, and maintenance apart from its own cost. And a bike can be much faster than a car during rush hours.
结论:when people are fully aware of the convenience of bikes and are given incentives, I’m confident that the change will come naturally.
21. Because of pressure from work or finance, more and more young couples in cities have their parents take care of the kids. Can you think of any disadvantages of this trend?
开头:
论述:
conflicting ideas between parents and grandparents.
Estrangement between parents and children.
In modern society, because of pressure from work or finance, more and more young couples in cities have their parents take care of the kids. From my point of view, there are several disadvantages of this trend.
First of all, the childhood is very important for one’s growth. However, the grandparents are usually less strict than the parents. They pay too much attention to the children. As a result, the children become self-centered and less independent in some cases. This is unfavorable for a child’s growth.
In addition, some parents complain that the grandparents' way of parenting is often old-fashioned. These differences in opinion can lead to fights and strain family relationships. These will have an adverse influence on the children’s growth.
Last but not the least, this will cause estrangement /ɪ'strendʒmənt/ between parents and children.
Taking into all things considered, there will be more or less problems for the children raised by their grandparents. In fact, the parents play a
indispensable role during the children’s growth. It is necessary for the parents to participate the growth process of their children.
it’s commonly seen in China nowadays that grandparents escorting their grandchildren to and from schools, and taking care of the young at home. But such facts may have some undesirable results.
论述:
1. To begin with, children might be estranged from their parents. Let me give you an example. Well, my sister and I grew up with my grandma. Not long ago when she had a baby, she insisted that she keep the baby by her side and look after him by herself. She confessed that she felt scared and forgotten when we stayed with our grandma until 7 years old for her and 11 years old for me. Not until then did I rethink about my relationship with my parents. We are close now, but not as close as with my grandma, because it was always grandma who shared with us those old good days. I don’t have much memory about my parents.
2. Second, there may be conflicts in the family when grandparents share the task of babysitting. Grandparents may feel they are more experienced in looking after a baby, while parents usually resort to modern but different ideas. As the saying goes, a mountain cannot be ruled by two tigers. When there are more than one decision makers, in particular when they don’t agree, conflicts are more likely to occur.
结论:so I believe the best way is for the parents to look after their young, not grandparents.
22. Traditional Chinese clothes are very beautiful and they represent traditional culture. However, we seldom wear traditional Chinese clothes. Instead, we wear Western clothes. Should we go back to traditional clothes?
开头:it’s true that we seldom wear traditional Chinese clothes these days. Even at weddings, we see western wedding gowns more often. But my answer to this question whether we should go back to traditional clothes is it depends on the occasion.
论述:
A. we are in a globalized era. People across the globe abide by some common rules to facilitate communication. Just as we all learn to speak English, we also accept western clothes. In fact, western clothes are universally recognized for a reason. It is convenient, and it looks formal. That’s why western clothes is a good choice for formal occasions. e.g., I’m wearing a suit today, because this is an important occasion. Even Chinese presidents wear …when visiting other countries.
B. but for special occasions where national identities matter, it’s better to choose one’s traditional clothes. I have a friend who was a Fulbright scholar. When she was attending the assembly for all the scholars at Washington D.C., she
wore a Qipao.
结论:what to wear is but a matter of personal choice. Some might prefer traditional clothes, while others western garment. But one thing we have to bear in mind: dress appropriately to the occasion.
23. Some people say Chinese are good at copying things but not so good at thinking of new things. Do you agree or disagree and why?
开头:it is true that Chinese people are good at copying, but I would call it: standing on the shoulder of giants.
论述:if we think about how we get an idea, or, how we compose a thesis, we see, the very first part of a thesis is often a literature review, or in plain words, a summary of many other people’s ideas. Ladies and gentleman, can we all it copying or plagiarism? Not so fast, right? As long as sth new is proposed in the latter part of the paper, the essay is recognized as original based on previous research.
This is also true for the so-called “Chinese copying”. In fact, along with Chinese copying, there is also sth new. Cell phones in China, for example, are often copied from other countries. I remember buying a “copying” iphone4 three years ago. It had the look of an iphone 4, yet it’s different. It was lighter, two more touch screen buttons, and the better part is, it had two sim card slots! As far as I know, dual sim card slots is the creation of Chinese people, and is very popular
among local consumers.
结论;so Ladies and Gentlemen, I agree that the Chinese people are good at building on previous discoveries and make new breakthroughs.
When it comes to the issue of the innovation, some people say Chinese are good at copying things but not so good at thinking of new things. Acutually I don’t agree with this point for the following reasons.
As a country famous for the four great inventions, it is not fair to say Chinese are not so good at thinking of new things. In fact, besides the four great inventions, China has made great contribution to the development of human society in ancient times.
In the last 30 years, China made great progress in many fields, such as the aerospace, the supercomputer and the high speed train and so on. Actually China has become the third country follow the United States and Russia that master the aerospace technology. These examples can prove that we do not lack of innovation ability.
However, in some areas, such as aircraft engine , the semiconductor and so on. China has been left behind. There is a long way to go to catch up with the development of the science and technology.
No matter in ancient or modern society. China has continued its
exploration to the new world to make a contribution to the development of human civilization. So I do not agree with the idea that Chinese are not so good at thinking of new things.
24. We had another crowded National Day Holiday this year. More and more people agree that everybody going on vacation at the same time is a disaster. What are some ways to change this?
I hate vacations! I still remember going to (景点名Hengshan Mountain) with my family/friends last May 1st. It was a disaster. We got jammed on the highway for 2 hours, while it usually took the same amount of time to arrive at the mountain. We were tired and hungry on the highway. When we finally got close to the mountain, things were worse. We moved like a snail, because there was literally a people mountain people sea. So the whole travel was all about queuing and waiting. It was awful.
Yet I need holidays to refresh myself. After working tirelessly for months, like all my colleagues, I need to restore my energy. I want to feel the magnificent Great Wall, smell a flower at Wuyi Mountain, and enjoy the blue sky in Sanya. But if I can do these at a different time from the public holidays, things would be much easier.
论述:solution 1: so the first thing we can do is to offer paid leaves(带薪休假). If we have paid leaves, we can choose to start our vacation at another time other than the national holidays. In that case, people would not rush out at same time.
Solution 2: on the other hand, the government should develop more tourist sites at home and encourage people to travel abroad. When there are more choices, people would not rush to the same places, and it would not be overcrowded any more.
结论:
开头:用自己经历说明it is a disaster. How I wish to travel at another time!
论述:solution 1: paid leave(带薪休假).
Solution 2: more tourist sites, more choices.

I'm not smoking, but I do have some good friends smoke. First of all, the government should not ban the sale of cigarettes and it is impossible to do so It's honest that cigarettes smoking is harmful to us. It may cause lung cancer, angiocardiopathy and air-polluting. But you can't deny that the sale of cigarettes also bring a huge tax income for government. We use this money to do infrastructure constructions, to invest educations and medications. In addition, smoking or not is everyone's right, no one can interfere. Once your
behavior does harmful to others, it should be forbidden. That's why smoking is forbidden in public places. Besides, if the government ban the sale of cigarettes, there must be illegal sales. When it comes, the government cannot control it as the crime rate will raise just like the Prohibition in America last century. So, the government should not ban the sale of cigarettes but control it.
26. Coal is responsible for much air pollution. We burn coal to produce electricity. Should China replace coal with nuclear energy? Why or why not?
In recent years, the air pollution has attracted public’s eyes. Actually, the burning coal to produce electricity make a great contribution to the air pollution. Some people suggest China should replace coal with nuclear energy. From my point of view, the nuclear energy cannot replace the coal completely, but it is necessary for China to develop coal with nuclear energy in the future.
First of all, the nuclear energy have less pollution than traditional fossil energy. And do not produce carbon dioxide which lead to the global warming. Besides, the nuclear energy is abundant in the earth, it could be used for hundreds of billions of years if it's great changes can be controlled.
Perhaps some people worry about the safety of the nuclear energy. In fact, the nuclear energy is fairly well used in most Europe countries and United States.
As we know, the nuclear power plant requires a lot of water. As a result, not every place can built a nuclear power plant. So the nuclear energy cannot replace the coal totally.
Taking into all things into consideration, the nuclear energy will play a more important role in the near future.
27. If the price of houses continues to rise, at some point nobody will be able to buy a house. Should the government control the price of houses?
The ever-rising housing price in China has become cause of worry for an increasing number of people. Despite the measures taken last year to cool down the overheated real estate market, fewer people now believe that the prices would stabilize in the near future.
In my opinion, there are two main reasons for increasing housing prices. First of all, the price of land which has changed more and more higher in recent years is the most important factor. Now the government depends on selling the land to keep their income. The expensive land increases cost of the house, certainly, the cost will shift to the consumers at last. Secondly, a large number of people went to the city, so the demand for housing has been rising.
I think the government has the responsibility to strengthen and improve macro-control of housing prices. The government should reduce the price of land and limit the profit rate of real estate investors. In this way, real estate
investors can`t to bid up housing prices.
In addition, the government should take measures to limit the population of city. If the living condition in small towns and countries can be improved, the people there will not run to the city. Therefore, the government should give them certain financial support.
28. More and more students go overseas for high school, especially those from rich families. Will you send your young kids abroad for study when they are very young?
Honestly, I don’t think it is a good idea to seek for high quality education abroad for young kids. As we all know, a school is society in miniature, an essential place for growth. So we had better not send the children overseas for high school blindly, especially when they are very young.
Adolescents are usually easy to get distracted by external environment and cannot control their desire properly while studying, let along under the circumstance of no supervision. They might easily get addicted to all kinds of amusement when studying. For instance, during the year of study in UK, I've seen many students spent their working time in bar, party and movie theater without a hesitate. They wouldn’t think of the aftermath of absent, nor did the final examination until near the final.
Besides, studying abroad for young kids could be bad to the cultivation of
a healthy lifestyle and psychological development. Numerous life experiences should be taught by parents instead of learning by themselves. Imagine what will a child do alone when he or she faced an accident with panic and despair which considered just a small problem by adults.
All in all, well-rounded students may not be achieved in a new foreign environment by themselves when they are very young, so I suggest we not …
29. Over the last three decades, English has risen at importance in the crucial annual high school and college exams held in early June. English is given equal weight with math and Chinese. Now the Ministry of Education plans to reduce the points allotted to English from 150 to 100 in the college exam, while raising the points for Chinese. Is this a good reform to return focus to Chinese language learning away from English?
开头:
I think this is a good reform to refocus on Chinese language learning.
论述:over the years, we have overemphasized English compared to other subjects. But English is but a means of communication. What really matters is tobe ourselvesand know our own roots.By writing about his own people and his own culture in English, Lin Yutang earns a global reputation till this day. By writing about his own people and his own culture in Chinese, Mo Yan makes his name known to the world. So Ladies and Gentlemen, language is not the
point. The most important is the keen understanding of our own culture. So it’s time that we cool down a little bit on our English mania and refocus more on our mother tongue. And this new policy serves just that purpose.
Some may argue that English learning will be overshadowed in this case. To them, I say, look at QianZhongshu, XuYuanchong, Hu Shi and other Chinese masters. They are all competent at both English and Chinese. In fact, language learning shares much in common. If one learns one language well, he/she will probably be competent at another language, be it English, Japanese or others. Besides, English learning is also strengthened in China. For example, we offer English courses at as early as elementary schools, compared to junior high school a decade ago.
结论: to sum up, I believe the reform is a great opportunity for people to get back to our roots. But at the same time, English will continue to be important.
30. Some countries have banned travel from Ebola affected countries but some claim this will make it harder for medical professionals to go to help control the disease. Is a travel ban a good policy or should travelers be monitored for signs of disease?
First, I want to say, travel ban is a good policy, as we all know, Ebola has strong infectiousness, which could spread through direct contact with the bodily fluids of an infected person showing symptoms, such as fever or vomiting. And it has killed thousands of people in West Africa. So, to prevent
Ebola from spreading, it is necessary to ban travel from Ebola affected areas, and it is a must to monitor travelers’ symptoms. Thus, they won't bring Ebola to other countries or regions. So, this is an effective way to control Ebola and restrict it in certain areas.
In fact, these methods won't make it harder for the medical professionals to control Ebola, instead they make it easier. In this way, we could focus our energy to send professionals to fight Ebola, and this is what we are doing now. International organizations like WHO, countries like China and America, and European Union, all sent top medical troops to cure Ebola and the result is good. According to the latest news, the Ebola outbreak in Guinea is relatively stable now. So, the travel ban is good policy and travelers should be monitored for signs of disease.
