ligand.according to the invention, the assay to detect the target ligand is carried out inthe presence of a sufficient amount of the inhibitor \\\"cross link\\\" to reduce the degree ofbinding of the binding site of the ligand analogue conjugate to the ligand receptor. theinvention also includes a method for identifying inhibitors of \\\"cross links\\\" as well as theinhibitors themselves.
