I went to the Guangdong Museum with my schoolmates to do some voluntary work today. Students from three grades took part in it and worked as different roles. Students of Grade Seven worked as guides who took visitors to different rooms. And those of Grade Eight played a short opera, introducing Guangzhou history to tourists. As for students of Grade Nine, they made beautiful posters which helped people know Lingnan Culture better.
In my opinion, it is of great help to hold such activities. On one hand, it is a good chance for us students to develop a sense of responsibility as well as our work ability. On the other hand, the history and culture can be passed on from one generation to another.

If you want to improve your oral English, English drama may be the first choice. It is a good chance to practice not only oral English, but also performing skills. If you are interested in football, take the football course. It is good for your physical health. Besides, you can learn more about teamwork. What about model making? In order to increase students’ knowledge about the traditional culture of Guangzhou, our school held a “Guangzhou Culture Festival” last Saturday.
Many kinds of activities were held in the festival, such as Cantonese Opera Competition, Picture Show and Food Show. Most of the students thought the Cantonese Opera Competition was interesting and many of them enjoyed taking part in it. The music sounded good and the clothes were beautiful. The Picture Show presented the changes of Guangzhou, which could make us learn about the history and culture of Guangzhou. The Food Show was the most popular activities in the festival. Different kinds of food were served and all of them were delicious. From the Food Show, we also could learn some basic skill of cooking, which helped us become a good helper in our family.
I hope we can have some Cantonese films in our Culture Festival next time. In addition, we can organize some visitors to travel around our city.
